The System

It Started as
a Willingness to Help.

I never intended to get into politics. What began with lending a hand to a few friends became a system — a lens for seeing the whole political landscape.

How It Began

Very few people intend to get into politics. I never did.

My background in strategic marketing and information technology pulled me into a few races to help some friends. Being a problem solver, I looked at the bravery of people who want to return government to the limits intended for it — and their fight against the huge money thrown into campaigns by the powerful. Using guerrilla marketing tactics, could the underdogs win?

With that beginning, I started to work the problem.

I've never cared about how much money someone had. If I could help them, I believed it was my job to lend a hand. I did, over and over again — until I'd played a role in over 150 campaigns. I saw what worked and what didn't. I met people of every kind who brought their own history and skills into it. I started to see patterns emerge, and the collection of that wisdom became my first book, The Goal Is to Win.

I built a seminar based on the book and was invited to give it fifty times. Each time, someone in the audience would bring me to their area to train and coach those who wanted more influence on the politicians and the policies that impacted their families.

More campaigns, more candidates, and more conversations led to the ideas behind the second book, Prepare Lead Win. When I added the book's glossary, that emerged into the Training Deck — and then I developed the second seminar. Today, I hear people routinely speak of the Land of Milk and Honey and the Inarguable Approach.

What started as a willingness to help became a system — a lens through which to see the political landscape.

That lens helps the novice quickly apply their own talents and skills to be more effective. That's why I get invited in when someone isn't supposed to win. The way I see it, I'm still helping my friends. It's what I'm called to do.
